Never lose your skis in deep snow again and – in an emergency – be found more quickly in an avalanche.

Two 10-meter-long bright red and blue ribbons. If the skis come loose, they pull the ribbons out of small pockets attached to the ski boots. This allows for faster location of those buried in an avalanche and skis lost in deep snow.

If a ski gets stuck, a Velcro tear-away point prevents potential injury. The person wears two 8-meter lengths of bright red leashes, and each ski has a 2-meter length of blue leash attached. This dramatically increases the chance of survival, as the first 15 minutes – the initial rescue by a companion – are crucial. Therefore, the find--me avalanche and powder leashes are now considered essential equipment in backcountry skiing.

27 functions of find—me at a glance

In deep snow:

  • Never again will you have to search for or even lose your skis in deep snow.
  • In most cases, the skis can be pulled down without the intended breaking point tearing.
  • Tear-away point with Velcro fastener – to prevent injuries if the ski gets caught.
  • Simply attach mini-pouches above or below your ski pants (no need to stuff them inside)
  • To be attached to the front jaw (=more practical) or to the back jaw
  • Easy to attach and detach when unbuckling the skis.
  • After triggering, simply stuff it back into the small pocket and it's immediately ready for use again.
  • Ready for use even when not in your pocket (e.g., after a fall while skiing quickly down dangerous terrain). Simply put it in your anorak pocket.  put.
  • No risk of injury like with a safety strap
  • Works for touring skis, freeride skis, alpine skis, … for young and old.
  • For ski groups: no waiting if someone has lost their skis – more safety for the entire group.

In case of an avalanche accident:

  • There's a good chance that some of the ribbons will be visible on the surface. Easier to see than an avalanche cord.
  • Intuitive searching – even for inexperienced users (even before starting with the avalanche transceiver – avalanche beacon – avalanche probe)
  • Tear-away point with Velcro closure to prevent anchoring – 2 m of strap remain on the ski – 8 m on the person
  • Bands printed with reflective ink for searching in twilight (reflects mobile phone flash up to approx. 30m)
  • Bands printed with direction and distance (2, 4, 6, 7 m) to the buried person and important safety information
  • Short tape as an aid during helicopter briefing (pilot immediately sees wind direction and guide)
  • Identifying multiple victims buried alive – name is on the straps.
  • Mobile phone numbers are printed on the red ribbons and you can call the buried person (acoustic probes for location tracking and the buried person knows that the search is approaching)
  • Avalanche dog has an additional "track" – resulting in faster pinpointing of the avalanche.

Additional safety advantages/extreme situations:

  • Rapid closure of ski slopes when an injured person is lying on the slope.
  • Generally, signal tapes in the mountains, on ski slopes
  • Reserve guy lines for bivouacs, lashing, securing, …
  • The Velcro fasteners on the straps also function as "loops" for easy attachment (e.g., for barriers).

Necessity knows no law!

These functions should only be used if no other "classic" assistance and materials are available.

  • Two 8m lengths of rope provide approximately 16m of reserve "rope" for securing injured persons (not for rappelling!!).
  • Applying emergency bandages (stabilizing and splinting, for example, a broken leg)
  • Attachment strap for the bags for the quick application of pressure bandages

With its diverse functions and advantages, find—me! is the perfect complement to avalanche transceivers, avalanche airbags (avalanche backpacks), avalanche shovels, and avalanche probes, and should be part of every skier's equipment. Anyone venturing into alpine terrain, deep snow, freeriding, or ski touring shouldn't be without it.
