Crossblades Softboots
are a snowshoe system that is also suitable for downhill skiing in gentle and moderately steep terrain.
The reversible plate has a running surface with steel edges on one side and a permanently integrated climbing skin on the other side.
Thanks to the softboot binding system, familiar from snowboarding, different shoe sizes can also be accommodated.
This innovative snowshoe system can be easily and quickly switched from climbing to skiing and vice versa. This allows you to alternate between ascending and gliding while snowshoeing across hills and fields, without having to attach, remove, pack, and unpack ski skins or other ski equipment. Non-skiers can start on gentle terrain. Skiers will have no problem and will immediately experience a good skiing feel.
Instead of the typical snowshoeing motion, Crossblades are pushed forward like skis when walking. This helps conserve energy. In powder snow, Crossblades sink in to the same depth as conventional snowshoes; on steep slopes, a climbing aid can be deployed.
